Artist's Comments

Another small sketch done on the corner of a scrap piece of paper
(about 13cm tall, I think).
I think I used a 0.3mm mech pencil for most of this.
There are still some glaring errors here that I can see -no time to fix it at the moment.

I like William Stout's work (fantasy/palaeoartist) who did a great dino book back around 1980 - he has a real flowing, art nouveau kind of style. I was throwing in a bit of that influence here. For those interested here's his website

And I have no idea what the phrase is about, was mucking around - couldn't be bothered to remove it.

....and now I guess everyone has a dragon pic here at DA....

Hahahaha! Look who's doing dragons now! LOLZ!

Erm, seriously though, it's very beautiful. The tree and wing especially so... and a sleeping dragon, I would have never thought of that.

Hey, this seems to be screaming out for a photoshopping.

I may act like a total shite, but that's no reason not to buy my prints.

Thanks....just remember you gave in first! hahaha! (with triumphant upward infexion).

Yeah, probably will redo this (its a crappy small scan of a crappy small sketch, but I like the idea). Photoshop.....you mean colour or what?

Anyway...I'm just glad to have the roid thing off the main page (you had a hand in convincing me to submit that!). My photoshopping requires more practice.

INFLEXION!...I mean inflexion! Oh bugger, why is it that I alway goof up when I'm gloating? Really takes the fun out of it......

That's wonderful! I love the gnarled, wind-beaten tree, and the way the dragon curls around the hill.
And I think the text adds an unusual, special touch. :)
I think I might fave this. :)

I love the elegance of this work, the flowing lines and curves are lovely. The shape of the dragon plays well against the shape of the tree, they sort of mirror each other, and with the sun in the middle, everything seems to be framed perfectly. I just love the feel of this, so sort of 'classical', and like you say, it has a real art nouveau kind of air about it. Your pencil work is admirable! :+fav:

Wow I love this piece
The style does really remind me of the art nouveau styles of natural flowing lines like those found in nature.
Particularly like that tree - and the moon in the background is great - so simple yet creates the background and mood og the piece.

and a watch I think
kinda reminds me of a book I had as a kid - but I'll be damned if I can remember the artist or what it was called
